The bench on the Downs

This is how the 'bench in the making' turned out. As you see it is an oak leaf. We found it again - they moved it from its place of construction. And we discovered that it has a plaque embedded in the 'stalk'.


It is sad to reflect on how young this person was when he died, but he must have had many good friends who have commemorated his short life with this beautiful bench with its spectacular view.

This bench has just appeared on Pewley Down. We hope to monitor its metamorphosis into a 'real' bench - if that is what it is destined to become.
